Dwarf Palm Maintenance
The Dwarf palm requires little or almost no maintenance once eastablished. It is very easy to grow. Because of its low maintenance many gardeners desire to bring this palm to their gardens. The Dwarf palm has slow growth rate.
This plant tolerates a variety of soils. For best growth plant the Dwarf Palmetto in well drained, soft and fertile soil with sand, loam and peat moss.
The Dwarf palm will thrive in sun or shade. It will tolerate salt spray and wind. It will survive extreme droughts and occasional hurricanes.
Native to low lying areas of the Southern of the United States this palm likes plenty of water.
Adaptable well to all surroundings the Sabal Minor can be grown is most north places with no protection. It is the second hardiest palm in the world. The Dwarf palm will demonstrate amazing cold hardy qualities. It will tolerate cold winters with temperatures as low as 0 F with no damage.
Because its roots spread about several times the spread of this plant don’t try to dig it and transplant. It is very hard to remove all roots. More likely this bush will die.
